That's right, the Grandaddy of all Seattle amateur musical contests" is back with a bang for the 50th Anniversary of "It Happened at the World´s Fair"
On Saturday, January 14th 2012, this beloved Seattle institution returns to Seattle and will once again beckon impersonators from near and far to represent just what "The King" really means to them! There is only one place in Seattle each year where you cansee thirty different impersonators infull hip-gyrating, fried Chicken-eating and swooningaction... You'll probably even see his wife Priscilla, manager Colonel Tom Parker, best friend Red West in the crowd or on stage...
It's all at the 15th annual 2012 Seattle Invitationals !
Lucky Attendee´s will see each performer tackle one of "The Kings" many personas: the innocent and magnetic country boy, the hip-swinging rockabilly superstar, The G.I. Guy, Hollywood playboy, the devout gospel singer, or the diamond-studded, gold-sun glassed Vegas crooner. Each amateur impersonator will get one chance to show what he (or she) is made of - a single shot to perform a song, in costume, backed by the fabulous Kentucky Rain band!
To start the evening off with a bang we invited back the Graceland Five band- playing supercharged punk rock versions of the Kings music. Following this 35 minute "super set" we´ll bring on several surprise guests and professional singers to warm the crowd up for the main event.
